After another devastating loss and a public brawl with the infamous finance blogger Denchik, down‑on‑his‑luck trader Rodion Lansky realizes that the only way to keep from losing his mind is to step away completely. He heads into the woods, seeking silence far from the charts and the noise of his failures.

But instead of peace, he finds the shadow of an alien ship, camouflaged among the trees. Inside, Rodion meets Azalar – a being that can transmit knowledge directly into his mind. Azalar doesn’t just share secrets of the cosmos; at Rodion’s request, he also feeds him precise trading signals for futures contracts, turning a born loser into a winner.

Rodion starts winning. His debts vanish. His enemies back off. But the more he relies on Azalar’s gifts, the blurrier the line becomes between his own thoughts and the alien’s voice. Slowly, he realizes that the deal that once seemed like salvation might end up costing him far more than all the money he ever lost. Now he must find a way to break the contract – before his consciousness becomes someone else’s territory.
